Author Valerie Connors will teach Writing Workshop on July 14.

Back by popular demand, the Georgia Writers Museum is hosting a set of Writing Workshops. The first class will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, from 10 a.m. to noon. The teaching author is Valerie Joan Connors. Ms. Connors is the author of four novels in different genres. She was born in upper Michigan but spent her formative years in Oregon. As an adult, she bounced around the west coast until her job as a software consultant brought her to Atlanta in 1996, the same day as the Olympic torch.

Connors has served on the Board of the Atlanta Writers Club since 2011 in nearly every capacity, including president, from 2013-2015. She continues to serve as the VP of programming and officer emerita. During business hours, Connors is the CFO of an engineering firm in Atlanta.

She will be teaching the workshop on “How to make your characters come to life.” The cost for the class is $45 per person. The class price includes a copy of Connor’s latest book, “A Better Truth.”

Registration is required due to limited space. Those interested can register online at and clicking on the tab. Payment through PayPal, debit or credit card may also be made online. The next Writing Workshop will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25, with author Rona Simmons of the “Book Widows” as leader.

The fourth and final class of the series will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, with local author Betty Liedtke as the facilitator.
